made sense was to live with my mother….

REVIEWS

“Wow, count me IMPRESSED! This presentation is a blend of openness, honesty, captivating visuals, and engaging soundtracks, all framed with thoughtful ‘bookends.’ ‘Old ideas die hard.’ Jesse explores this important idea throughout his personal story helping lawyers not only tell more compelling stories of their clients, but also helping them connect to a greater part of themselves that they must bring inside the courtroom. Any show that features Godzilla and a VW bus is also bound to grab my attention.”

Carl Bettinger

Trial Lawyer & Author of “Twelve Heroes One Voice: Guiding Jurors To Courageous Verdicts”

“Jesse in this show walks the walk and talks the talk! It was a preview to the communication work that I learned with Jesse in action. Jesse’s programs will take your communication and storytelling skills to the next level.”

Tim Bussey

Attorney/Owner Bussey Law Firm

“Jesse Wilson has done it again: in six scenes he models how to reach into our very core and pull out the emotion, truth, and power of the stories within each us. As an attorney, my ability to take my client’s story and relate it to a judge or jury in such a persuasive way makes the difference between them being seen as a real person whose life and story matters and that of them being viewed as just another miscreant with a disposable future. These techniques allow me to energize the story I’m telling so my client’s situation is more clearly represented.”

Kathleen Shell

Assistant Public Defender

“Do you ever get tired of teachers that tell you what to do instead of show you? Watch Jesse‘s masterful telling of his own story and you’ll see for yourself what you can learn from him.”

Render Freeman

Trial Attorney

“This is art; truly beautiful art with how the story is written and performed. It felt like I was an active audience member listening and feeling through this wonderful expression of relationships. Congrats on always moving the envelope, Jesse, and keeping this art of storytelling so vivid on stage!”

This film was born out of a deeply challenging time in my life, a period when I struggled to release an old and painful belief for what I thought life ought to look like. I believe the most significant challenge we face, regardless of our profession or audience, is judgment. Writing and performing this solo show allowed me to shed a significant portion of the judgment that had been holding me back, paving the way for me to embrace my “greater story” with humor (living with mom still brings us to hysterical laughter), compassion, and awe for a time that feels like it was a million years ago… and also just yesterday.

Through this film, I hope to inspire you to embark on your own journey towards a greater story, one where you can live your best life unburdened by the weight of judgment.
